LSU added another piece to its 2025 transfer portal class on Monday, securing a commitment from former Florida State wide receiver Destyn Hill.
Hill, a New Orleans native, was a four-star recruit in 2021. According to the On3 Industry Rankings, he was the No. 5 ranked prospect in the state of Louisiana.
Hill didn’t make his debut until 2023 as he dealt with personal matters. In 2023, Hill made two starts with the Seminoles. He was targeted 19 times, catching six passes for 87 yards. Hill tore his ACL before 2024, making 2023 his one year of action in Tallahassee.
Despite Hill’s age, he has several years of eligibility remaining. That’s what LSU needs as the Tigers try to rebuild depth in the wide receiver room.
Hill adds talent and upside to LSU’s offense. He may not make an immediate impact in 2025 as he works his way back from injury, but LSU is making a bet on Hill’s potential.
Hill is the second wide receiver to join LSU’s transfer class. Last week, the Tigers signed former Kentucky wide receiver Barion Brown.
LSU’s transfer group stands at eight following Hill’s commitment.
Tigers’ head coach Brian Kelly promised an aggressive approach, and so far, LSU’s backed it up.
