Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. has broken the franchise record for most receiving yards and receiving touchdowns by a rookie.
Thomas caught a three-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Mac Jones to secure his place in history. He has four catches for 18 yards so far.
Entering Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, Thomas needed 14 yards to tie the rookie receiving record and 15 to own it.

His 869 yards and counting are the most by a rookie since Justin Blackmon’s 865 in 2012. The Jaguars drafted Blackmon with the fifth pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
He caught 64 passes and scored five touchdowns in his first year with the team.
Coming into today, Thomas was on pace for more than 1,112 receiving yards and at least 70 catches. He has a team-best seven touchdown catches and is on pace for at least one more this season.
His eight receptions against the Titans last week set a new career high for catches while his 86 yards tied his fourth-best output this year.

Thomas logged 122 yards against the Indianapolis Colts earlier this season, setting a new career-mark for most yards in a single game.
The Jaguars traded back in the 2024 NFL Draft to select Thomas out of Louisiana State University with the 23rd pick in the first round. Thomas led the nation in receiving touchdowns last season, pulling in 17 while securing 1,177 yards and 68 receptions.
Thomas has been nominated for Rookie of the Week five times this season and leads all rookie wide receivers in receiving yards.
