Salisbury flea market sustains damage in early morning fire

SALISBURY, N.C. (WBTV) – The Webb Road Flea Market in Salisbury was damaged in a fire early Sunday morning, according to the Bostian Heights Fire Department.

One wing of the market was destroyed in the fire and all other areas of the facility remain intact. According to a Facebook post, the market is closed Sunday because of the fire.

The fire was reported at 3:52 a.m. and was initially dispatched as a fire alarm. Firefighters found heavy smoke when they arrived. No injuries were reported.

The market is located just off Interstate 85 at 905 Webb Rd.

The facility was destroyed by a fire in September 2010.

On Saturday, a three-alarm fire broke out at a vacant warehouse on Thermoid Way in Salisbury. No injuries were reported in that fire, according to the Salisbury Fire Department.
