Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens make their final preparations for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Rhodes and Owens, who compete for the undisputed WWE championship on Saturday, measure each other up on Friday Night SmackDown.
Tensions continue to escalate between Rhodes and Owens. The friends-turned-enemies previously wrestled each other at August’s Bash in Berlin in a show of sportsmanship. Rhodes successfully defended his title last time out. The intensity has escalated this time around. Owens beat down Rhodes after Bad Blood went off the air and hospitalized Randy Orton with a piledriver. Despite his violent outbursts, Owens claims Rhodes is the traitor for briefly aligning with Roman Reigns in October. Saturday’s headliners get one last chance to send each other a message on Friday.
The inaugural women’s United States championship tournament finals will be decided on Friday. Bayley, Chelsea Green, Michin and Tiffany Stratton participate in semifinal bouts. The winners will advance to the finals at Saturday Night’s Main Event. A match between Carmelo Hayes and a mystery opponent is also scheduled.
CBS Sports will be with you all night, beginning at 8 p.m. ET, with recaps and highlights of all the action from XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
