(Previous coverage of the parade in the video above.)KCRA 3 is calling Saturday an Alert Day because of how heavy rain, strong winds and snow will affect outdoor activities and travel across the region. “It’s with a heavy heart that we have made the difficult decision to cancel Santa Parade this year,” Mix96 said on its website. “Our number one priority is the safety and well-being of our parade participants, spectators, and employees. After speaking with several meteorologists, we have determined that the weather conditions expected for Saturday morning exhibit too much risk for us to execute a safe and fun event.”A Facebook post for the parade cited logistical issues as making it “impossible” to reschedule the parade.
