Duke basketball hasn’t won its first three road games in a season since 2020.
The fifth-ranked Blue Devils (9-2, 1-0 ACC) have a chance to end that drought on Saturday (Noon, ACC Network) against Georgia Tech (5-6, 0-1) in Atlanta.
Duke won each of its first two road games at Arizona and Louisville by double-digit points. The Blue Devils have beaten Georgia Tech in 17 of the last 19 games in the series, but the Yellow Jackets have won two of the last three meetings in Georgia.
Here are some other things to know and a score prediction for the latest ACC matchup between Duke and Georgia Tech.
Tyrese Proctor, Duke basketball revenge game at Georgia Tech
Tyrese Proctor rolled his left ankle in the opening minutes of Duke’s game at Georgia Tech last season, and the Blue Devils went on to lose by four points. It’s safe to say Proctor will be fired up to make some new memories in Atlanta this time around. The junior guard is averaging 11.4 points and shooting 42.6% from 3-point range.
Cooper Flagg, Isaiah Evans among Blue Devils to watch vs Yellow Jackets
Cooper Flagg was Duke’s MVP in its road wins at Arizona and Louisville. In those two games, Flagg averaged 22 points and 9.5 rebounds. But he also picked up four fouls against the Wildcats and fouled out against the Cardinals, so that’s something to monitor at Georgia Tech. Fellow freshman Isaiah Evans didn’t play at Arizona and played 10 minutes at Louisville, but he’s provided instant offense off the bench of late. Evans has drilled 50% of his 40 attempts from 3-point range and has knocked down 15 treys across the last five games.
How will Khaman Maluach, Maliq Brown, Flagg match up with Georgia Tech’s Baye Ndongo?
Georgia Tech sophomore Baye Ndongo had his breakout game as a freshman in the win against the Blue Devils last season, racking up 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. The 6-foot-9 Ndongo, who is averaging 12.9 points and 7.7 rebounds, will likely see several Blue Devils guarding him this weekend. Khaman Maluach, Maliq Brown and Flagg have proven capable of making life tough for interior players.
Duke vs Georgia Tech score prediction
Duke 76, Georgia Tech 62: The Blue Devils are a confident bunch on the defensive end of the floor and Cooper Flagg’s aggressiveness is opening up opportunities for his teammates to attack offensively. Duke will be victorious in the A-T-L.
