Paramount+ announced last week the release date for Season 2 of “Yellowstone” prequel “1923” and the season premiere is just months away.
Co-created by Taylor Sheridan, “1923” follows the events of the limited series “1883” (released in 2021). The “1923” prequel “introduces a new generation of Duttons led by patriarch Jacob and matriarch Cara,” played by Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, respectively, according to Paramount+.
Some scenes may be familiar to Texans, as Sheridan filmed at several locations in Central Texas, including Austin, Bartlett and Lockhart, which was transformed to resemble 1920s Fort Worth.
‘1923’ Season 2 release date
The second season of “1923” will premiere on Sunday, February 23, on Paramount+, the network said in a news release Thursday.

Will there be a Season 3 of ‘1923’?
According to Brandon Sklenar, who plays Spencer Dutton in “1923,” the series is planned to conclude with Season 2.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sklenar stated that the show would have a definitive ending at the conclusion of its second season. This aligns with earlier comments from the creators, who have designed the show as a two-season arc to tell the story of the Dutton family’s early history.
